August 11th Noss Mayo - Led by Joy
And what a joy this walk turned out to be!
After a miserably damp Tuesday, Wednesday dawned bright and sunny for the eighteen walkers who made the journey down to Noss Mayo. We managed to fit all the cars into the smallish car park then set out along the creek with fine views of Newton Ferrers on the other side of the water.
Continuing along the carriageway built in the late 19th Century by Lord
Revelstoke we had fine views over the Yealm estuary and beyond to the
coast of Cornwall with Plymouth tucked away behind Wembury Point and
completely hidden from sight.
On gaining the headland we spotted the Eddystone Lighthouse on the horizon
before turning inland for the walk back to Noss Mayo.
Lunch was taken at The Ship Inn.
